The first thing I remember about this session, is that I was in car accident that morning. And coincidentally, I was on the phone Liz, my client, when the accident happened. No, it wasn’t my fault (she was on speaker) and I got rear ended by someone who was rear ended by someone else — on I-95 in Woburn, coming back from another shoot. She got quite an earful when the other car hit me, as you can imagine. So that was a crazy start to the day. Of course she was concerned for me and asked if I was sure I really wanted to do the shoot. But we (Grace was in the car with me) were fine (the car… not so much), and of course I still wanted to do it! I’d worked with Liz and her family twice before, and she is one of those clients I instantly knew I was going to like. She is so easy to talk to, and I know that having photos to document their family are really important to her; and that makes me happy. So I was off to York Beach that afternoon to meet up with them (Jeff and the girls drove me up, and we went to dinner afterwards, because the one thing I didn’t feel like doing was driving anymore that day!)
Graham is six. Which honestly, I still can’t believe, because he is SO TALL! I first met him when he was four, and I just love his little freckles and the dimples!
I love the way Liz looks at the images from her gallery and goes right to this one or that one that she feels captures a familiar expression of her son Graham. She loved this one below, and it got a prime placement in the album we created from the session.
And here are the three of them together in front of Nubble Light. This was September, and an overcast day, so it wasn’t super crowded. I did have to photoshop out a person or two from this image, but not many!
Liz’s mom and dad also met up with us for just a couple of shots. And also to help wrangle the pups!
We made sure Graham got a nice break to toss a football with his dad.
And snuggle the pups. The little one is Poppy and the older one is Hudson.
Everyone got some time to snuggle the pups, actually. And just have some fun exploring and hanging out.
The beach is a great place to play with silhouette shots!
These York Maine family photos was another great session in the books with this family. We created an album from their session, and it’s a really beautiful keepsake from this great afternoon.
