If you are part of the Class of 2024, now is the time to reach out about your senior photos. While your yearbook deadline may seem far away (and please read my post about why senior photos are about more than your yearbook photo!), it is essential to schedule your senior session early on in the year, ideally in the Spring or Summer months, rather than waiting until the Fall.
A few quick reasons why I recommend getting in touch with me now to book your Senior Session:
No one wants to be too cold or too hot during their portrait session. Spring or early Summer session means cooler and less humid temperatures than August or early September.
The environment will still be green and lush and your photos more vibrant — by last August I was really hunting for locations that weren’t brown from lack of rain, and it was hard! And because heat and humidity are as bad as rain, booking early leaves more flexibility if we need to reschedule due to a 90+ degree day to avoid the frizzies!
Light is so important to beautiful photos, and there is nothing I love more than Golden Hour during Spring and Summer. The sun creates the most gorgeous golden glow and its angle at sunset allows the light to wrap around you in a really beautiful way!
We all love wearing the carefree and fun styles of warm weather, so show yours off in your Spring or Summer session. And remember, with the Custom Session you can bring an outfit change or two, giving you lots of options if you can’t pick a favorite!
Booking early means more dates to choose from. By September, my availability gets limited and you are busy with school and activities, so it can be tough to find a date that works. And if we need to reschedule due to weather or illness, we won’t have to worry about getting an extension from your yearbook. In addition, if you’d like to use a location that’s further away, I will have more flexibility to do that when I am not doing back-to-back sessions in the Fall.
Yearbook deadlines are in the Fall, but you’re going to be busy enjoying the start of your senior year by then and you won’t want to worry about squeezing in a portrait session. Plan ahead and do your session before you start school and enjoy your Senior year! Not to mention, you’ll get your proof gallery earlier and you can take your time deciding on your yearbook photo.
So don’t wait! Reach out today to book your Senior Session. I promise it will be a fun and memorable experience and we’ll work together to create portraits you love and that reflect who you are!
