Some sessions just feel like magic from start to finish. Amelia’s was one of those. When it comes to senior photos in the Boston area, it’s hard to beat Stevens Coolidge Place in North Andover on a gorgeous late June evening — and honestly, the roses were at their absolute peak. For those searching for a senior photographer north of Boston, this spot is truly special.

Amelia is a dancer, and that came through in every single frame. She has a natural grace that you just can’t manufacture — it’s just her. We incorporated her pointe shoes into the session, and I am completely in love with how those images turned out alongside the climbing roses at the greenhouse door.

A Location That Does the Heavy Lifting
Stevens Coolidge Place is one of my favorite locations for senior sessions in the Merrimack Valley, and late June is genuinely the best time to be there. The rambling roses that cover the greenhouse are at their peak for only a short window each year, and timing a session during that window is something I always encourage when seniors are flexible with their dates. Additionally, for anyone looking for a North of Boston senior photographer, these beautiful spots provide the perfect backdrop. We also took advantage of the stone steps, the ornamental gate, and the sprawling meadow on the property — which gave us that gorgeous golden-hour field look as the sun started to drop.

Amelia wore a beautiful flowing white dress that worked perfectly for both spots — it felt romantic and ethereal in the garden, and effortless and free in the meadow. The light in that field right around sunset was just ridiculous. In the best way.

Class of 2027— Now Is the Time to Book
If you’re a rising senior and you’ve been thinking about booking your session, I really want to encourage you not to wait. I know it feels like there’s plenty of time, but there isn’t — at least not for the good spots in the calendar. It’s the ideal moment to connect with a North of Boston senior photographer for your memories.
Here’s what I want you to know about timing:
Spring is actually ideal. The light is soft, the locations are lush, the weather is comfortable, and you avoid the heat and humidity that can make a July or August session feel like a lot more work. I have limited openings this Spring, so if that appeals to you, reach out soon.
Fall goes fast — very fast. I haven’t even opened my Fall calendar yet, and it typically fills before most seniors realize they need to get moving. Don’t be the person who reaches out in September hoping to squeeze something in before the yearbook deadline.

Summer sessions are beautiful too — and Amelia’s is proof of that — but peak summer heat and bugs are real, and sessions later in the day are really the only way to get nice light. Spring gives you more flexibility, especially if you’re working with a talented senior photographer North of Boston who knows the seasonal changes.

Make It Yours
One of my favorite things about senior sessions is how personal they can be. Amelia brought her pointe shoes and that detail changed the entire feel of the session — it told her story. Whether it’s a sport, an instrument, a beloved pet, or a location that means something to you, your senior session should feel like you. We’ll plan it together. For your experience, seeking out a Senior Photographer North of Boston who understands individuality can make all the difference.
