I recieved an email a couple of months ago from a photographer in Charleston, SC. She said that she’d be travelling up to Boston with her family in June and wanted to book a family session while they were here to document her son Sam, as he had just turned one. I took one look at her portfolio and thought, “Wow, she’s really good!” And then was struck with a small amount of panic as I realized I had never actually photographed another photographer before. But then I realized this would be great! From looking at her work, and her style of photography, I knew Erin and her family would be up for something fun.
So we decided on the Boston Common and the Boston Public Gardens — mainly because there is a carousel there and we thought that would be perfect for a one year old. Little did I know, Sam had never been on a carousel before — so that added a an awesome element to it all! On top of that Erin made great choices for wardrobe — colorful and fun and perfect for the setting. Here are a few of my favorite images from the evening:
Check out Sam’s face when he saw that colorful carousel for the first time! Priceless!
Love these with the Boston skyline in the background.
And then we headed over to the Boston Public Gardens to meet the ducks and see the swan boats and the beautiful bridge.
Time for a little snack!
We could tell Same was getting a little tired, so we just hung out on the grass for a while and enjoyed the evening…
And then he was done. I love this one!
