My friend Karen initially referred Tessa’s mom, Pamela, to me as she was helping Tessa & Drew plan their day and I started to get excited as soon as Pamela shared the details with me. She was kind enough to take me (and Karen!) to lunch at the venue, the Providence Art Club, when we first met, and I knew it would be a really unique and wonderful place for a wedding!
Tessa and Drew live in New York, so I didn’t actually meet them until I arrived for their big day, but they were lovely and gracious and fun and it was such a pleasure to document their wedding for them.
We started the day getting ready at the Hotel Providence, where we did the first look, and then we hopped the trolley for some portraits in downtown Providence. After that we made our way to the Providence Art Club for a beautiful ceremony that was focused on family and love. With its mix of contemporary and classic style, the Art Club served as an amazing venue for both the ceremony and reception.
Thank you so much to my second shooter Cynthia Hauk for all of your help and support and the beautiful photos you contributed throughout the day.
And here we go with the images!
Starting off at the Hotel Providence:
I love this sweet moment with Tessa and her mom.
Time for the first look. Drew looked a little nervous while he was waiting for Tessa, but as soon as she arrived, that all changed.
I love the rich colors of the hotel dining room that we used for the first look and these bridal party formals.
Then it was time to hop on the trolley to our next stop by the river in Providence.
As we were about to get on the trolley, I grabbed a quick photo of Colby & Kath — my friend Karen’s kids. They were a fantastic Jr. Groomsman and Jr. Bridesmaid.
It was a fun ride across town.
After some formals of the entire bridal party, they left for the Art Club and I stayed back with Tessa and Drew to get some portraits of just the two of them.
And we were just a short walk to the Art Club where everyone was waiting for the ceremony to begin.
About to get married!
I loved all of the details that the couple and their families chose.
The ceremony was full of laughter too.
Married!
We then snuck up to the roof of the Art Club for some post-ceremony sunset photos.
And then it was time for the party!
I loved the warmth of this room and the long tables.
Karen and Ken!
After dinner the party moved upstairs to another room that had been transformed into a nightclub.
The First Dance!
And then a really fun Hora! I love these!
The band — FreeStyle — was amazing!
Time to take a break for the cake cutting.
And then there was lots more time for fun on the dance floor.
And…goodnight! Such a fun day.
