I would say that 90% of my late Summer and Fall clients are families I have worked with for several years in a row. These are my favorite kinds of clients because I’ve gotten to know them over the years, and each session feels easier and more fun than the last. The kids feel comfortable with me, and parents have started to feel like friends. Everyone is more relaxed and picture day is SO much less stressful!
When I first met Liz, Matt, & Graham, over five years ago, I knew that we were a great match. Liz and I chatted on the phone and she told me about her family and how excited she was to do a family session for the first time.
One year became five years, and now I look forward to seeing Liz, Matt and Graham every August or September. For the last three years we’ve done their family photos in York, Maine because they have a house there. We’ve done sessions at Nubble Light, Wiggly Bridge, and for this session, at their adorable little cottage.
Liz’s parents joined us this year as they did in 2018 for the Nubble light session. I know how much pictures mean to grandparents and I love it when they can actually be part of the session.
Poppy and Hudson are also an important part of the family, though we left them in the back yard for some of the photos and they really wanted to join us.

They have such a great fire pit, we needed one picture there.
And when we were done, Graham and Matt played a little catch while Liz and I had a glass of wine on the porch! I’m so lucky to do this job and meet such great families.
