If you saw my last two blog posts, you might remember that babies Sloane and Marina are cousins, and two of four baby girls born into their extended family in 2020. Pretty amazing right!? Well, the story continues with little Julian! His mom and Marina’s mom are also cousins. So that makes five babies in one year. Pretty awesome right?
Newborn Photos In Andover
We had a gorgeous end of July morning for this session. Mornings are usually great for newborns, though sometimes mid-morning light can be tricky outside when it’s sunny. However, Lea shared some photos of the yard with me ahead of time and I knew it would be perfect, with just the right amount of shade.
The flowers in the background are my favorite summer flowers – Japanese Anemone.

The sibling shot can be tricky with a newborn and wiggly siblings, but the “everyone lay on the blanket and look up!” method usually works!
This is one of my favorites of Lea. Their yard is so beautfully landscaped. I had to tuck her in behind the roses because they were perfect with her dress.
Once we were done outside, we headed in to try to get a few sleepy/cozy baby photos. Because of covid, the plan was to do these outside but it was just too hot. So I wore a mask and we were very careful!
My newborn setup
This photo below is just to give an idea of my set up for newborn photos. I come with several blanket choices and a few newborn pillows to make a cozy spot, but I don’t bring a backdrop or beanbags with me. All I need is a soft piece of furniture like a sofa or chair and some good natural light! I find that it’s less disruptive to the family and it works great!
