I’ve been spending time on the Vineyard for over 30 years, so when one of my favorite families started vacationing there a few years ago, we both knew that we needed to make a Martha’s Vineyard family session happen. Finally, this past July, our schedules worked out and we decided that Edgartown Lighthouse would be the perfect spot for family photos. After a few days of rain, we got a cloudy (which is totally fine at the beach!) but warm July evening.

I have so many memories of my own kids at the Edgartown lighthouse, and even have pictures of them in most of these spots. Time goes way too fast, but so happy that we have preserved these memories for both of our families.
Henry found a spider crab on the beach, and got him back into the ocean where he belonged.

Every one of these photos brings back memories for me. When we are on the vineyard, Jeff and I walk to the lighthouse from our cottage almost every day. I’ve stood here with the girls watching dogfish swim, waited for the sunrise with Ellie, and celebrated the 4th of July with the best spot in town to watch the fireworks. This was a really special session for me, and I’m so glad we made it work!
And I have to include a snapshot of my girls from 2006. Seems so long ago, and also just like yesterday.
